I did get a replacement engine harness from year one, maybe I won't fry this one. Wonder if its better to use the original first or go with new.

I know I like new wires. Need to find out if they sent you a dud, or if you have a short.

feeling a little better each day now, as the weather warms i'll be more motivated to go outside to rewire it. Used a sale to get some washer hoses and fittings and got the harness as an afterthought. Think the last chemo took more out of me than I thought, starting to come out the other side now.

Pretty sure I shorted it with the alternator when I hooked up one of the fields that wasn' t hooked up before, shouldn't happen with the one wire unit I have on now.

Blue wire which I believe goes to coil has a D shaped connector on end, coil doesn't have a flat side on positive like originals do. any ideas on drilling it out without ripping the end off? got harness positioned, and attached to firewall, starter relay, and alternator. Green wire I believe was intended for the alternator field connector, but mine doesn't use one. Also need to cover and tape off the blue connectors that would normally go to ballast and voltage regulator so they don't short off of firewall. Something to do tomorrow I guess.
