Ya those are the best knifes to use to me, they're sharp as hell. Definitely give the liquid mask a try, it works well depending on what you're doing and it might work well for covering the letters, I'm still sanding mine (slowly but surely) so I haven't gotten to that part yet...

Yeah, sanding took FOREVER. I thought taping was gonna be the EASY part! GRRRR!

When I put the vinyl on my hemi letters, I used an exacto knife at a steep angle and gently shaved forward with no problem. I would try a different kind of tape to mask them. Isn't 3M tape kinda thick?
